4G LTE and 5G Access Point Names (APN) Settings for Android and iPhone Devices by AT&T, 2022 Edition

In the digital age where mobile connectivity is essential, it's important to know how to configure your device's APN settings, especially when switching to a new network like AT&T. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up AT&T APN settings on Android and Apple devices.

For Android:

  1. Open the Settings app and navigate to SIM cards & mobile networks (or Network & internet > SIM).
  2. Select your AT&T SIM card.
  3. Tap on Access Point Names (APN).
  4. If you don't find the necessary APN settings, tap Add new APN.
  5. Enter the following details:
  6. Name: NXTGENPHONE
  7. APN: NXTGENPHONE
  8. Proxy: (leave blank)
  9. Port: 80
  10. Username: (leave blank)
  11. Password: (leave blank)
  12. MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net/
  13. MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
  14. MMS Port: 80
  15. MCC: 310
  16. MNC: 410
  17. Authentication type: (leave blank or None)
  18. APN type: default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri
  19. APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
  20. Save the new APN and select it.
  21. Restart your phone for the settings to take effect.

For Apple (iPhone):

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on Mobile Data (or Cellular).
  3. Tap on Mobile Data Network (or Cellular Data Network).
  4. Enter the following (only the APN is usually required):
  5. APN: internet
  6. Username: (leave blank)
  7. Password: (leave blank)
  8. Exit settings and restart your iPhone.

This basic APN configuration enables 5G, 4G LTE, and MMS functionality on AT&T’s network for both types of devices. Restarting the device ensures the new settings activate properly.
