Ableton releases version 1.5 upgrade for Move, featuring sample segmentation, enhanced MIDI input/output, and the addition of a fresh Auto-Filter tool.

Holy shit, Ableton Move didn't disappoint last year, let me tell ya. This bad boy from the Berlin software kings was more than just another Live controller. It's a fucking beast that merges elements from Push and their Note iOS app, offering a self-contained instrument experience.

Take Me to the Review

So here's the lowdown: Move lets you play and sequence four glorious tracks filled with beats, synths, and all sorts of sound goodies. It's like a musical playground, but better because tech. You've got Drum Racks, Drum Sampler, Drift, Operator, and even the ability to sample directly into the device. Plus, you can tweak sounds with Live effects, control Live when plugged into a computer, and even act as a controller that won't judge your shitty beats.

Firmware 1.5: The Game-Changer

Now Ableton has dropped the 1.5 update, and it's a fucking monster. Rompers, take note: the samplers needed auto-sample slicing, and Move fucking delivered. No more manual slicing, y'all can easilly divide a sample into sections, set the number of slices, and tweak the fuck out of them for the perfect beat.

Move 1.5 also leveled up its MIDI game. It can now send and receive MIDI across all four tracks, each with its own custom MIDI settings, and even grab clock settings from external devices. Just remember, it uses its USB port for MIDI I/O, so no traditional MIDI ports here.

Also, Live's newly upgraded Auto-Filter joins the party, along with a bunch of presets to fuck around with. The update also sorted out some kinks in how Move interacts with Live, plus a handful of bug fixes.
