Adidas x Arte Antwerp Launch Lightblaze POD Sneaker Honoring African Diaspora
Adidas and Arte Antwerp have joined forces to launch the Lightblaze POD, a new sneaker that pays tribute to the untold stories of athletes from the African diaspora. The shoe, priced at €200, is exclusively available via the Confirmed app and features Adidas' Adizero Lightstrike Foam technology.
The Lightblaze POD is a fresh all-white colorway, following a limited family-and-friends drop in monochromatic navy. It is the latest model from the Adidas x Arte collaboration, which aims to bring a new, intellectually and culturally deep dimension to streetwear. Bertony Da Silva, the founder and creative director of Arte Antwerp, plays a central role in this collaboration. Da Silva, with his Angolan roots and European background, reinterprets sportswear through the lens of street culture, shaping the collection as a tribute to the unsung heroes of global sports.
The partnership also includes a Z.N.E. tracksuit and a complete apparel collection, set to be released soon. Belgian ex-football pro Mousa Dembélé, a long-time friend of both brands, features in the campaign to embody the connection between sporting performance, cultural identity, and street culture.
The Adidas x Arte Lightblaze POD is a celebration of the African diaspora's impact on global sports culture. It is the first release in a long-term collaboration between Adidas and Arte Antwerp, known for its minimalist aesthetics, artistic claim, and social stance. The shoe is now available for €200 exclusively via the Confirmed app, with more releases from the partnership to follow.
