Ahana Cloud Secures $7.2M for Presto SaaS, Expanding SQL Analytics on Data Lakes
Ahana Cloud Inc., the only Software as a Service (SaaS) for Presto built specifically for AWS, has secured an additional $7.2 million in Series A financing. The funding round was led by Liberty Global Ventures, with participation from GV. This brings Ahana's total funding to $32 million.
Founded by Harsha Vardhan, Ahana's mission is to serve as the SQL engine for the Open Data Lakehouse. Presto, the de facto standard for fast SQL processing on data lakes, is widely adopted by tech giants like Meta, Uber, and Twitter. Ahana aims to make Presto SaaS the easiest to use, enabling high-performance SQL analytics on S3 data lakes and other data sources.
With the new funding, Ahana plans to expand its technical team, develop new products, and create go-to-market programs. As a leading member of the Presto community and the Linux Foundation's Presto Foundation, Ahana is committed to open-source growth and evangelization.
Based in San Mateo, Calif., Ahana will use the fresh investment to fuel its growth and further its mission. The company's unique offering and strong backing from investors position it well to shape the future of SQL analytics on data lakes.
