Android Enterprise Boosts Security and Productivity with New Updates
Android Enterprise has rolled out new updates focusing on enhanced security, improved device management, and increased productivity for users, especially on Android tablets and large-screen devices. The updates address growing mobile security threats, with over half of breaches resulting from unauthorised access and 40% linked to public Wi-Fi use.
Microsoft and Samsung have contributed to these updates. Microsoft Intune now offers better mobile application management and device security. Meanwhile, Samsung's One UI 8 updates, based on Android 16, bring improved software to Galaxy devices.
Advanced Protection is introduced to safeguard against harmful apps, scam calls, and phishing attempts. Corporate ID integration and network access controls further bolster security. Gemini support in Google Docs is included for document summarisation and content drafting. Corporate ID badges can now be used in Google Wallet for secure building access.
New biometric-based authentication measures are added to strengthen enterprise security. Custom Access Point Name (APN) settings via AMAPI allow for more controlled mobile data usage. Biometric authentication with Identity Check reduces PIN theft and unauthorised access.
