Bettani Farms Shifts Focus to Plant-Based Protein, Raises $6.5M

Bettani Farms, previously known as Climax Foods, has shifted its focus to plant-based protein production and cheese alternatives. The company, now led by Sandeep Patel as CEO and chairman, has raised $6.5 million in funding and assembled a strong team to drive growth.

The company has adopted 'Caseed', a plant-based protein derived from pea plants, as its primary ingredient. This protein mimics the functionality of casein, a key component in traditional dairy products. Bettani Farms has paused blue cheese production to focus on mass-market cheeses like mozzarella.

In a strategic move, Bettani Farms has partnered with Bel Group to develop plant-based versions of its iconic brands. The company has bolstered its team with experienced professionals in R&D, sales, and manufacturing. Notably, founder Oliver Zahn is no longer part of the team, and Sandeep Patel serves as the new chairman and CEO.

Bettani Farms, with its new leadership and focus on plant-based protein and cheese alternatives, has secured substantial funding. The company aims to expand its reach through partnerships and a strengthened team, positioning itself as a key player in the growing plant-based market.
