Biostadt Introduces 'Pyankor': A Novel Post-Emergent Herbicide for Rice Farmers
In a significant development for paddy farmers, Biostadt India Limited has launched a new product called 'Pyankor'. This next-generation herbicide is designed to combat a variety of weeds, including grasses, sedges, and broad-leaf species, offering an efficient and economical solution for weed management in paddy cultivation.
Post-emergent herbicides, like Pyankor, offer several benefits in weed management. They are highly effective in controlling a wide range of weeds and can be applied when weeds are actively growing, providing flexibility in timing. Moreover, many post-emergent herbicides, including Pyankor, are formulated to be rainfast, ensuring effectiveness during rainfall.
Pyankor contains Pyribenzoxim 5% EC as its active ingredient. The herbicide is designed for fast action, being absorbed into the weed surface within 30 minutes of application. Visible yellowing of weeds occurs within 3 to 5 days, and full control over the weeds is typically achieved in 7 to 14 days.
The recommended application rate for Pyankor is 240 ml per acre. A premium-quality adjuvant allows for uniform spreading on weed surfaces and prevents the solution from being washed away.
The launch event for Pyankor was held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with Biostadt's senior leadership, channel partners, and international collaborators from LG Chem Life Sciences, South Korea, in attendance.
While specific information about the cost or availability of Pyankor is not provided, the herbicide is expected to revolutionise weed management for paddy farmers, improving crop yields and reducing manual labour.
