Blockchain development company Bloctopus, previously known as LZero, secures a $1 million pre-seed funding round, aiming to revolutionize the realm of blockchain technology.

Bloctopus, a groundbreaking blockchain sandbox development tool, has raised a $1 million pre-seed investment round. The platform, designed to simplify blockchain application development, offers a "testnet-as-a-service" platform that allows developers to easily integrate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), set up sandbox environments, and test token issuance without the typical operational overhead associated with blockchain infrastructure management.

Founded by University of Southampton graduate Til Jordan and co-founder Anisha Goel, Bloctopus is making waves in the blockchain industry. The tool supports simulation of realistic blockchain networks using mainnet data and distributed nodes, is highly scalable through cloud-based architecture, configurable at the node level, and offers enterprise-grade security for public sharing and network control across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

The early version of Bloctopus has already been launched with LayerZero, simulating cross-chain message transfers under real mainnet conditions. Since its launch at EthDenver, Bloctopus has gained significant traction, collaborating with industry-leading entities such as the Ethereum Foundation, LayerZero, Kurtosis, Offchain Labs, Coreum, and SSV Network.

The funding round was led by Hivemind Capital, with participation from Techstars, IronKey Capital, and angel investors including founders from Brevan Howard, Quantstamp, Cred Protocol, Nexus Network, and Airside Labs. Emmanuel Vallod, Partner and Head of Ventures at Hivemind Capital, believes Bloctopus is critical to uplifting crypto consumer experiences and accelerating users' onboarding from web2 to web3.

Bloctopus aims to eliminate DevOps overhead for seamless cross-chain development. Fewer than 1% of the world's 30 million developers build on-chain due to its steep learning curve, but Bloctopus is breaking this barrier by streamlining the setup of complex, rapidly evolving tools, reducing DevOps overhead by 90% and enabling developers to ship 20 times faster.

Public testnets for dApp development often lack reliability and privacy and require manual setup of fragmented infrastructure. Bloctopus v1 is live and free to use for developers, offering a more efficient and user-friendly alternative.

Dr. Alice Iles, Head of Tech Acceleration at the University of Southampton, is proud of Bloctopus's rapid progress and Til Jordan's journey from undergraduate hackathon participant to startup leader. Bloctopus technology has been rated the #1 web3 product on Product Hunt, solidifying its position as a game-changer in the blockchain development landscape.
