BYD Unveils Seal 6 DM-i Touring for Germany, Aims to Boost Sales
BYD has unveiled the Seal 6 DM-i Touring station wagon, tailored for the German market. This launch marks a significant step in BYD's strategy to expand its presence in Germany.
The Seal 6 DM-i Touring boasts impressive performance figures. It can reach a top speed of 180 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds. Inside, the car offers a spacious, luxurious interior with premium materials and a V2L function, allowing it to power external devices.
BYD is collaborating with German companies to produce the Seal 6 DM-i Touring at its Hungarian plant, set to commence operations by the end of 2025. This move signals BYD's commitment to the European market.
Chinese manufacturers have historically faced challenges in Germany, but BYD is determined to succeed with a new dealer network strategy. It aims to have 120 dealers by the end of 2025 and around 300 by the end of 2026. The top version of the Seal 6 DM-i Touring is priced at least 49,990 euros.
BYD's Dual-Mode-Intelligence system in the Seal 6 DM-i Touring prioritizes electric power, providing a drive feel similar to an electric car, with a 100 km electric range and an average consumption of 1.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Despite current sales figures being far from its 2025 target of around 50,000 units, BYD's new strategy and the Seal 6 DM-i Touring could help turn the tide in Germany.
