Canon Debuts Two Cameras to Enhance Creator's Visual Storytelling
Canon U.S.A's latest releases, the PowerShot V1 and the EOS R50 V, aim to elevate content creators across various fields such as cinema, livestreaming, vlogging, and virtual reality. The new devices expand the EOS/PowerShot V Series, catering to creators' needs with thoughtful design and advanced features.
Designed for maximum portability and flexibility, the PowerShot V1 is an lightweight, compact camera that can be utilized at any time or location. Key attributes include a redesigned grip suitable for both normal and selfie shooting, an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens (approximately 17-52mm for movie recording and 16-50mm/F2.8-4.5 for still imagery), and a 1.4-type sensor with approximately 22.3 megapixels for stills. The camera also boasts quicker AF speed and subject detection tracking performance compared to the PowerShot G7 X Mark III, thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF II.
The PowerShot V1 delivers continuous still shooting at up to approximately 30 frames per second, with a maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/2000 seconds and an electronic shutter speed of 1/16,000 seconds. This camera also enables high-quality video calls and livestream on a PC with a single USB cable, and it seamlessly works with smartphones for both wired and wireless connectivity via the Canon Camera Connect app.
The company also unveiled the EOS R50 V, a movie-focused, high-performance camera. Key features include a video-focused design that sports a livestream button, a movie recording button on the front of the camera, and a tripod screw hole for vertical shooting. The device also includes Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, ensuring quiet and smooth autofocus. The EOS R50 V can shoot 4K crop at 60fps and YCC 422 10bit, and it is compatible with the newly launched RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ, the first RF-S lens with built-in power zoom. It offers four different methods of livestreaming: UVC/UAC, HDMI, Camera Connect, and Live Switcher Mobile multi-camera.
