Canva Philippines Introduces Storefront Templates and Collaborations in Preparation for 9.9
Canva, the popular design platform, has announced a series of new initiatives aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines strengthen their digital presence, boost sales, and grow their business.
At the heart of these initiatives is a partnership with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. This collaboration aims to provide Shopee sellers with the tools they need for more effective marketing and long-term skill development.
Maisie Littaua, Country Lead for the Philippines at Canva, highlighted the challenges faced by Filipino entrepreneurs in building a strong online identity. She stated, "Canva's goal is to empower every entrepreneur to show up with the same confidence as big brands."
To this end, Canva has launched a dedicated Shopee Creator Page, featuring tailored templates and design resources specifically for creating compelling storefronts and promotional materials. This includes a collection of marketing and promotional templates designed for the country's biggest online double-digit sale events, starting with 9.9. These templates help SMEs showcase bestsellers, announce limited offers, and stand out in busy feeds with professional, polished visuals created in minutes.
In addition to these immediate benefits, Canva is also committed to the long-term growth of SMEs. Starting October, Canva will be part of the Shopee University curriculum, training sellers on practical design and marketing skills. Moreover, these programs include nationwide workshops, caravans, and the DTI Malikhaing Filipino event, aiming to equip MSMEs and creatives with tools and skills for the digital marketplace.
Jack Ng, Head of Commercial at Shopee Philippines, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, "Our goal is to help sellers not only market their products effectively but also grow their businesses in the long run." He was involved in partnerships such as with Canva Philippines and YouTube to empower SMEs in brand building and marketing, and with YouTube to drive content-driven commerce and enhance shopping experiences in the Philippines.
Canva's initiatives are not just about design, but about being a partner that makes everyday hustle easier for SMEs. Littaua reiterated, "Canva is not just a design platform but a partner that makes everyday hustle easier for SMEs." She believes that every entrepreneur's ideas and stories deserve to be seen, and Canva's new initiatives are designed to help them show up with the same confidence as big brands.
As part of these initiatives, Canva will provide 4,000 exclusive one-month Canva Pro trial codes to eligible Shopee sellers. After the trial, sellers will receive a 50% discount for up to three months on Canva Pro.
This partnership between Canva and Shopee is more than just a collaboration; it's a commitment to the growth of the Philippine creative economy. Canva's Country Lead, Maisie Littaua, stated that Canva partners with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to support the Philippine creative economy through various programs. This partnership with the DTI further underscores Canva's dedication to empowering Filipino entrepreneurs and helping them compete on a global stage.
