In a significant move towards sustainable transportation, China-based UNEX EV and DiDi Mobility Information Technology, a subsidiary of DiDi Global, have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on ride-hailing and car rental services in Mexico.

The partnership focuses on creating an integrated ecosystem that connects vehicles, drivers, and battery-swapping infrastructure. According to Johnny Lee, CEO and Chairman of U Power, the parent company of UNEX EV, the aim is to provide a comprehensive solution for the electric vehicle industry that supports long-term and scalable growth.

Under the agreement, UNEX EV will establish a supply chain to ensure the delivery of vehicles, spare parts, and related services. The companies have also agreed to deploy EVs using U Power's UOTTA battery-swapping technology. UNEX EV will recommend and provide battery-swapping vehicle models suitable for the Mexican market.

The integrated ecosystem will encompass battery-swapping infrastructure, aiming to support a wide range of vehicles and drivers. The focus of the partnership expansion, as stated by Lee, is on building an integrated ecosystem that connects vehicles, drivers, and battery-swapping infrastructure throughout the region.

In addition to the collaboration on battery recycling and the provision of maintenance services, the partnership also covers the sale of spare parts and the provision of maintenance services. The integrated ecosystem, as per Lee, will be designed to connect various components for efficient operation and will be regionally extensive.

Johnny Lee emphasized the importance of building an integrated ecosystem as part of their partnership network expansion. The partnership aims to promote the sales of UNEX EV's UOTTA battery-swapping vehicles in Mexico, with Didi Mobility's fleet platform providing a platform for these vehicles.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the electric vehicle industry, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable transportation solutions and a focus on creating efficient and scalable ecosystems. As the world moves towards a more electric future, partnerships like this one are crucial in driving the transition forward.
