In a thrilling move, Scientific Games (SG) has hopped aboard the Latin American iGaming train with their OpenGaming platform, partnering with Betsson Group. This union promises a top-notch gaming experience for players in Colombia and beyond.
Betsson, a major player in online gaming within the region, solidified the relationship by acquiring a substantial 70% stake in Colombian sports betting and online gaming brand Colbet in July 2020.
"We're excited to give Colombian gamers a premium experience by teaming up with an industry leader in content aggregation platforms," stated a Betsson representative.
The synergy between SG and Betsson blossomed in September 2020, when the latter gained access to OpenTrade, a proprietary sports betting solution operated by SG's subsidiary, Don Best Sports Corporation, based in Nevada.
"With OpenGames' in-house content and third-party titles, we can savor an expanded content library that appeals to a diverse audience," continued the Betsson rep.
Gamers at one of Colombia's first licensed operators, Colbet, will now dive into a range of games developed by SG's studios, including the recently acquired Lightning Box from Sydney, alongside content from Big Time Gaming and Reel Play. The full OpenGaming platform portfolio will be unveiled soon.
