Commencement of Tata Harrier EV deliveries in India; boasting up to 627 kilometers range and all-wheel-drive (AWD) option availability.
The Tata Harrier EV, a luxury electric SUV, is making waves in the automotive industry with its impressive specifications and advanced technology features.
This electric vehicle (EV) comes in two drivetrain choices: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD), the latter being a unique Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD) variant. The QWD version incorporates dual motors, one on each axle, for enhanced performance, producing 391 bhp and 504 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the RWD model features a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, delivering 235 bhp and 315 Nm of torque.
The Tata Harrier EV is available in four distinctive color schemes: Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. But it's not just about looks; this EV offers a premium in-car tech package.
At the heart of this tech package is a 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment system, claimed as the world's first Neo QLED display in an automotive application. This screen offers high resolution, vibrant colours, in-built apps and games, and smooth operation. It is paired with a 10-speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos 5.1 for premium sound quality.
The Harrier EV also boasts a 540-degree surround-view camera system with a unique transparent bonnet feature, offering enhanced visibility around the vehicle during parking and tight maneuvers. This system includes a digital rearview mirror that provides a crisp and clear live feed. While the parking camera feed is described as slightly lower in resolution and frame rate, it still offers a significant advantage during parking and maneuvering.
Other notable technology features include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as auto parking and summon mode, a UPI-based in-car payment system called Drive Pay, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, configurable ambient lighting, wireless smartphone connectivity, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) functionalities.
The Harrier EV is based on the acti.ev+ platform, a modified version designed for electric mobility. The RWD model has an approximate range of 627 km, while the QWD version with the 75 kWh battery offers an even more impressive range of approximately 622 km. The 75 kWh battery provides a certified range of 538 km (MIDC) for the Harrier EV.
In addition, a special Stealth Edition of the Tata Harrier EV is introduced at launch, finished in an all-black theme. However, the exact launch details and the Harrier EV's price are not yet revealed.
The Harrier EV is equipped with a fully digital driver display, further enhancing the premium feel of this electric SUV. With its advanced electric drivetrain, luxury positioning, and cutting-edge technology, the Tata Harrier EV is set to redefine the electric vehicle market.
The Tata Harrier EV's tech-savvy lifestyle is further bolstered by a 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment system, providing high-resolution visuals, in-built apps, and Dolby Atmos-enabled premium sound from its 10-speaker JBL Black audio system.
This luxury electric SUV's technology also encompasses a 540-degree surround-view camera system, offering enhanced visibility and a transparent bonnet feature, along with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, wireless smartphone connectivity, and more.
