Coveris & Metis Launch Plastic-Reducing Packaging in Tesco; Mondi Cuts Food Waste with Özler Tarım
Coveris and Metis Plums have joined forces to launch innovative packaging in Tesco stores, aiming to reduce plastic usage while maintaining efficient packing speeds. Meanwhile, Mondi has collaborated with Özler Tarım to minimize food waste through a corrugated fibre packaging solution.
The Coveris-Metis partnership introduces LinerlessLid and punnet packaging, which eliminate the need for plastic lids and reduce overall plastic content. This initiative aligns with Tesco's commitment to cut down on plastic waste.
In another development, Mondi has worked with Özler Tarım to implement a double-wall corrugated fibre structure with a flat-stackable design. This not only reduces food waste but also increases production capacity by 15% and eliminates packaging defect costs. Özler Tarım exports its fresh produce to various countries, including Japan, Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Both Coveris and Mondi have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability by partnering with Metis Plums and Özler Tarım respectively. Their innovative packaging solutions aim to reduce plastic usage and food waste, contributing to a more sustainable future in the food industry.
