Dacia Unveils Affordable Electric Hipster for Urban Areas

Dacia has unveiled the Hipster, an affordable electric vehicle (EV) designed for urban areas. The compact, three-meter-long car combines elements of the Suzuki Jimny and Land Rover Defender, and aims to be cheaper than the current Dacia Spring, starting at €16,900.

The Hipster is an L7 vehicle, with performance and weight limits, and exemptions from certain crash and equipment requirements. This classification allows Dacia to offer the car at an affordable price. The Hipster produces up to 15 kW/20 PS of power, has a maximum unladen weight of 450 kg without the battery, and can reach a top speed of 90 km/h. The concept was introduced on October 6, 2025, positioning it as an accessible electric mobility solution for city dwellers.

The Dacia Hipster, a blend of the Suzuki Jimny and Land Rover Defender, is set to provide affordable electric mobility in urban areas. With its L7 classification, reduced power output, and exemptions, the Hipster is designed to be an affordable option for city drivers.
