Digitas Elects to Begin Branded Content Production, Branded as Digitas Pictures
Unleashing a Tidal Wave of Innovative Branded Content: Digitas Pictures
Get ready, folks! Digitas, the legendary advertising agency, has officially unleashed Digitas Pictures – their new branded content studio that's here to shake up the game. Announced during their 18th annual stint at the NewFronts, this studio represents the culmination of years of Digitas' investment in brand-led entertainment.
The studio is a silver-tongued fox, weaving its magic across Hulu, Peacock, Max, and other popular platforms, leaving suckers like Flonase and Sensodyne nothing but empty pockets and satisfied customers.
Mark Book, Digitas' EVP and top content head, calls Digitas Pictures a haven for culture-shattering content, brimming with purpose. Now, it might sound like just another run-of-the-mill studio, but believe me, it's been churning in the oven since 2019, with early gems like "A Woman's Place" – a KitchenAid-funded film about gender inequality in professional kitchens – setting the stage for more groundbreaking long-form pieces.
"We've been gearing up for this moment for ages, nurturing our work, reputation, and portfolio to go toe-to-toe with top-shelf entertainment," Book dished to ADWEEK. "Our content might not be C-list, but it's sure as hell going to hold its own."
Digitas Pictures has assembled a crack team of creatives, strategists, producers, and media specialists to get this show on the road. By early 2026, they aim to grow from a dozen to 20 dedicated, hard-working team members. But it's not all about work at this studio – it's also about play. Digitas Pictures is more than just a creative partner for brands looking to venture into the entertainment world; it's a bridge to tantalizing, non-traditional branding opportunities.
Debuting at NewFronts, Digitas Pictures also unveiled a trailer for a documentary on sexism in the culinary industry. As for their plans for the future, they're keeping some secrets close to their vest, but Book didn't mince words when he confirmed they are currently developing a major feature film set for 2027. It's going to be epic, and by epic, we mean high-profile and quality-driven.
According to Book, "There's a whole damn universe of things you can do that a six-second or 15-second ad simply can't." And with that, the floodgates have officially opened for a wave of branded entertainment that will leave you wondering where the hell it all came from.
