Domain ownership gets a digital transformation through collaboration between D3 Global and InterNetX, aiming to tokenize domain ownership.

Forward-thinking organization D3 Global, founded by domain professionals Paul Stahura and Fred Hsu, has moved another significant stride forward in its objective to integrate conventional Web2 domain services with the dynamic potential of Web3.

Domain ownership gets a digital transformation through collaboration between D3 Global and InterNetX, aiming to tokenize domain ownership.

In an exciting development, D3 Global and InterNetX (a domain registrar under IONOS) have joined forces to integrate traditional Web2 domains with the dynamic possibilities of Web3. This partnership aims to tokenize InterNetX's entire portfolio of 22 million domains using D3's blockchain-based Doma Protocol.

The transformation of these conventional domain names into tokenized assets opens up new opportunities for fractional ownership, trading, and utilization within the Web3 ecosystem.

At the heart of this integration is the Doma Protocol, a blockchain-compliant infrastructure designed specifically for "DomainFi." This innovative technology enables traditional DNS domain names to be represented as blockchain tokens, converting them into crypto-native, programmable digital assets.

The tokenized domains will operate across multiple major blockchain networks, such as Solana, Avalanche, and Coinbase's Base layer, promoting wider interoperability and participation in diverse decentralized finance (DeFi) and NFT ecosystems.

This collaboration also brings about new use cases, including fractional ownership, peer-to-peer crypto trading of domain assets, integration with decentralized finance and smart contract-based applications, and broader access to Web3-native distribution channels.

By bringing 22 million traditional domain names onchain, InterNetX and D3 Global are effectively bridging the legacy internet infrastructure with emerging blockchain technology. This move positions domains as valuable real-world assets within Web3, aligning with the growing trend of tokenizing real-world assets on blockchain.

Fred Hsu, CEO of D3, views the involvement of InterNetX as a powerful endorsement of the project's viability. He believes that this partnership could contribute to a new era of digital property management, allowing both traditional businesses and emerging crypto users to participate in the value creation enabled by Web3 innovations.

The partnership between D3 Global and InterNetX underscores a broader industry trend in which legacy systems are being reshaped by decentralized frameworks, paving the way for a more interconnected and dynamic digital economy.

In this partnership, the Doma Protocol, a blockchain-compliant infrastructure for "DomainFi," is set to tokenize InterNetX's entire portfolio of 22 million domains, making them crypto-native, programmable digital assets. These tokenized domains will be operable across multiple major blockchain networks like Solana, Avalanche, and Coinbase's Base layer, enabling participation in diverse DeFi and NFT ecosystems.

This strategic alliance between D3 Global and InterNetX serves as a significant industry move, signaling the reshaping of legacy systems by decentralized frameworks, and forging a more interconnected and dynamic digital economy.
