Egyptian Startup intella Secures $12.5M, Partners with Visa to Revolutionize MENA's Arabic Conversational AI
Egyptian startup intella has secured US$12.5 million in a Series A round, teaming up with Visa to revolutionise conversational AI for financial institutions across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The collaboration aims to cater to the region's diverse linguistic landscape, supporting over 25 distinct Arabic dialects.
Founded in 2021 by Nour AlTaher and Omar Mansour, intella specialises in building Arabic-first AI models for enterprise contact centers. The company's technology provides complete visibility, analysing every customer interaction with unparalleled dialectal accuracy. This transforms untapped conversational data into actionable intelligence.
The partnership with Visa will pave the way for the adoption of intella's advanced AI agent, Ziila. Together, they aim to co-develop innovative solutions that reflect the complexity and richness of the MENA's linguistic landscape. Visa Implementation Services will lead the delivery and implementation of these solutions across the region, expanding the capabilities of Arabic conversational AI.
With this partnership, Visa's network will gain access to intella's full product ecosystem, starting with intellaCX. This will enable financial institutions to deliver truly localised and innovative customer experiences at scale. The collaboration is set to shape a powerful unified solution, empowering institutions to better serve their customers in the diverse MENA region.
