Electric Sports Car, Lotus Evija, Boasts 2013 Horsepower, Accelerates From 0-200mph in Only 13 Seconds
The British-manufactured Lotus Evija EV has made history by setting a new benchmark in the world of high-performance electric vehicles. Not only does it boast a blistering 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds, but it has also claimed the title for the fastest acceleration from 0-200mph, achieving this feat in an astonishing 13 seconds[1][3][5].
During Autocar's definitive road test, the Evija hit 0-150 mph in just 7.7 seconds and 0-200 mph in 13.0 seconds, setting a new standard for production cars[1][5]. This impressive acceleration is thanks to its four electric motors, each powering over 500hp, totaling more than 2010hp[1][3].
The Evija's record-breaking 0-200 mph time is a significant improvement over past top performers. For instance, it beats the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport's record by a clear three seconds, and it's a second and a half faster than the Koenigsegg Agera's next-best recorded time of 14.3 seconds[1][3][5].
While other high-performance EVs like the Rimac Nevera R excel in other areas, such as Goodwood hill climb records, the Evija leads in the specific 0-200 mph sprint category[2][5].
In addition to its record-breaking acceleration, the Lotus Evija has also made headlines at the Nürburgring, further cementing its position as a high-speed monster that has found a niche in the market[4].
