**Lucid Air Grand Touring Sets New Guinness World Record for Longest EV Drive on a Single Charge**

In an impressive feat of electric vehicle (EV) technology, the Lucid Air Grand Touring sedan has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an EV on a single charge. The record-breaking drive, completed by London-based entrepreneur Umit Sabanci, covered a distance of 1,205 km (749.2 miles) from Silvaplana, near St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Munich, Germany, without the need for a recharge.

The journey took place on July 5–6, 2025, and the route included a mix of alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads. Sabanci was accompanied by Kenneth Schofield and Fergal McGrath, both from the UK, during the record-breaking drive.

The Lucid Air Grand Touring, a standard production sedan, demonstrated its impressive capabilities throughout the drive. Its electric powertrain, combining world-class vehicle efficiency with the most advanced drive units, ultra-high voltage architecture, and battery management technology available today, proved to be a formidable force.

The record surpasses the previous best set by the Mercedes-Benz EQS450+, which managed 1,045 km (649 miles) in June 2025, by a significant 100 miles (160 km).

The Lucid Air Grand Touring boasts an impressive performance, with 831 horsepower and a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). Additionally, it has a WLTP range of 596 miles (960 km). Thanks to its advanced technology, a Lucid Air Grand Touring can travel further with less energy than any other vehicles. In fact, it can add up to 248 miles (400 km) of range in just 16 minutes due to its ultra-fast charging capability.

This achievement further cements Lucid Motors' position as a leader in electric vehicle range and adds more weight to CEO Peter Rawlinson's claim that Lucid's technology has overtaken Tesla's. The company previously partnered with Umit Sabanci to set a world record by crossing nine countries on a single charge, also in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.
