Emesent's Hovermap to Revolutionize Mapping at Geo Week 2024
Emesent, a global leader in autonomous mapping technology, is set to showcase its innovative Hovermap at Geo Week 2024 in Denver, Colorado. The event will see industries like mining, construction, and utilities benefiting from Emesent's quick and safe data capture in challenging environments.
Founded in 2018 by Dr Stefan Hrabar and Dr Farid Kendoul, following a decade of robotics research at Australia's CSIRO, Emesent has made a significant impact with its Hovermap. This LiDAR mapping and autonomy payload enables 3D data capture, processing, and visualization in GPS-denied areas and physically challenging conditions.
At Geo Week, Emesent will demonstrate Hovermap's integration with the American-made Freefly Astro drone. This collaboration responds to US regulations banning Chinese drones and offers unmatched autonomy and mapping capabilities. Freefly Systems' CRO, Matt Isenbarger, praised the integration, highlighting its potential in challenging environments.
The premium scanning model, Hovermap ST-X, will be on display, showcasing support for the Astro drone and other deployment options. Emesent's co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Dr Stefan Hrabar, expressed excitement about this integration. Hovermap can be deployed on various platforms, including drones, robots, vehicles, or handheld/backpack-mounted devices, catering to diverse industry needs.
Emesent's Hovermap, with its ability to capture survey-grade data quickly and safely in demanding environments, is set to make a splash at Geo Week 2024. Its integration with the Astro drone and versatile deployment options make it an invaluable tool for high-risk industries, aiding critical decision-making through 3D visualizations.
