Enhanced Mobile Phone Coverage in Potsdam-Mittelmark's District by Telekom
Deutsche Telekom, one of Germany's leading telecommunications providers, is expanding its mobile network in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district. This expansion aims to improve coverage along major transportation routes, such as the A9 and railway lines, and increase indoor reception.
The expansion includes the construction of 65 new sites in the municipalities of Havelsee, Schwielowsee, Teltow, Werder, and Wollin. These sites are strategically placed to cover key areas like the Brandenburg-North-Berlin and Braunschweig-Berlin railway lines, as well as major motorways such as the A2, A9, and A10.
Deutsche Funkturm, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is responsible for building these mobile network sites. Interested parties can lease a site for a rooftop or mast location by visiting www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.
Georg von Wagner, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, stated that the expansion is being carried out to meet the increasing demand for mobile services. The company is cooperating with municipalities and property owners to lease necessary areas for new sites.
Currently, Deutsche Telekom operates 123 sites in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, providing coverage to approximately 99% of households. The expansion is expected to further increase the mobile network coverage area in the district.
In addition to the 65 new sites, the expansion includes five sites with LTE and one site with 5G. This is part of Deutsche Telekom's ongoing efforts to improve LTE availability and push for 5G coverage across Germany.
The bandwidth demand is increasing by around 30 percent per year, prompting Deutsche Telekom to push ahead with mobile network expansion. For more information about mobile network availability in specific areas, visit www.telekom.de/netzausbau.
