Enhanced Power and Fuel Efficiency for the Dacia Duster Vehicle

The third generation of the Dacia Duster has been revealed, marking a significant step forward for the popular SUV. After its debut in 2012, the Duster has undergone a transformation, now boasting a more sophisticated design, modern technology, and hybrid powertrains.

The new Duster is built on a new platform, providing a smoother ride and improved handling. The real price increase for the entry-level Duster, adjusted for inflation, is approximately 45%, but the SUV still remains an affordable option, with the cheapest facelifted Duster now costing from £13,995.

Dacia is upgrading the Duster's powertrains with a new hybrid from the Bigster and an improved 1.2-litre mild hybrid. The new Duster 155 Hybrid is equipped with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and an electric motor powered by a 1.4kWh battery. This hybrid engine, developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, delivers electric-only driving at low speeds and has improved official economy by 6mpg compared to the previous hybrid, with emissions reduced by 9g/km to 105g/km. The new mild hybrid option boosts power to 140bhp, an increase of 10bhp.

The facelifted Duster SUV is now on sale in the UK, and it features more technology and additional features. The updated Duster will come with Adaptive Cruise fitted to hybrid versions of the Journey and Extreme trims. The Journey will also receive new interior trim, while the Extreme will feature new 18′′ black alloys.

The Dacia Cargo, a 'Van' version of the new Duster, has been announced with prices starting from £22,995 (+VAT). It is available with a choice of two powertrains.

While the updated Duster will go on sale in November 2025, no prices have been announced yet. The 2021 Duster retained its affordable price tag with prices starting from £18,745.

The Duster's journey to the UK was not without its delays. Despite excellent 'news' from James May, the SUV took a long time to be put on sale in the UK. However, its arrival has been worth the wait, as the new Duster offers a combination of affordability, modern features, and improved performance.
