The European Organization, a leading communication partner for public projects, has announced its involvement in the AI4TRUST project. This initiative aims to combat disinformation and support media integrity in Europe by leveraging AI tools designed to detect and counter misinformation and disinformation efforts.

The AI4TRUST project proposes AI-based solutions focused on protecting democratic discourse by enhancing media integrity and ensuring AI deployment aligns with ethical standards in the European context. The project emphasizes the ethical use of AI to ensure trust, accountability, and transparency in digital information environments.

Though detailed technical solutions are not fully outlined, the project approach includes developing AI systems to identify false or misleading content, implementing ethical AI frameworks to support democratic processes and media reliability, and fostering trust and accountability through transparent AI ethics practices.

The European Organization values participation in public projects as a part of its business model. In addition to the AI4TRUST project, the Organization is involved in several other initiatives. For instance, the GOALSCORE project combines fighting violence against women and promoting gender equality in sport. The TARGET initiative aims to combat gender inequalities using youth football players as advocates, focusing on coach training to promote gender equality within teams.

The Organization's services include communication, dissemination, and exploitation possibilities for projects. Its multilingual packages aim to strengthen projects' media presence and stakeholder outreach. The Organization's website, which has been in operation for over 25 years, is accessed by over one million people every month, reaching over 80% of Europeans in their native language.

In the realm of environmental conservation, the European Organization is involved in the LIFE Terra project, which focuses on creating a movement for planting 500 million trees by 2025. The EU4Ocean coalition's work aims to support the sustainable transition and transformation Europe needs to deliver the ocean-related objectives and ambitions of the EU Green Deal.

The Organization also participates in projects like GREENFOOT, which supports and fosters the transition to a more efficient, low-carbon energy system by packaging individual participation and financing of the energy transition in football. The AI-CODE project addresses challenges in next-generation social media by leveraging AI-based tools to support media professionals in producing trustworthy information, combating disinformation, and assessing source credibility.

The DEMOTEC project investigates the role of participatory budgeting in fostering greater and more informed citizen participation in policy-making and engaging citizens who feel disconnected from political and policy processes. RECAP evaluates the Common Agricultural Policy's (CAP) response to challenges like COVID-19 and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, monitoring real-time CAP implementation across countries and creating a platform for stakeholders to connect and voice concerns.

Lastly, the F.R.E.I.H.E.I.T. project aims to label AI-generated content against disinformation in Europe's "Eastern Neighbourhood," utilizing AI for fact-checking, particularly amid the intensifying Russian propaganda around Ukraine.

The European Organization continues to play a significant role in various public projects, acting as a work package leader, consortium partner, or sub-contractor, and serving as a natural channel to disseminate EU policies to media and stakeholders at the national and local level.

  1. The European Commission, in its efforts towards the EU Green Deal, is collaborating with the Organization on the LIFE Terra project, which seeks to plant 500 million trees by 2025, contributing to environmental conservation.
  2. In line with the Common Agricultural Policy, the RECAP project, in which the European Organization is involved, monitors the implementation of the CAP across European countries and provides a platform for stakeholders to connect and voice concerns.
  3. The Organization, through its GREENFOOT project, is fostering the transition to a more efficient, low-carbon energy system by incorporating individual participation and financing of the energy transition in football.
  4. As a part of its commitment to combating disinformation and supporting media integrity, the European Commission's AI4TRUST project aligns with the Organization's AI-CODE project, which uses AI-based tools to support media professionals in producing trustworthy information and assessing source credibility.
