Examining the Realme GT 7 Pro: A Bold and Aspiring Advancement
The Initial Release of the Realme GT 7 Pro in the Indian market marks its position as the first device to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, being the pioneer brings with it its challenges, especially when succeeding a well-balanced performer like the Realme GT 6. I have had the new Realme top-tier device for close to a month now, witnessing improvements as the company rectifies feedback and tackles issues.
Promoted as an offering delivering "unparalleled performance surpassing expectations," here is a breakdown of the Realme GT 7 Pro.
Aspects to Embrace
The Realme GT 7 Pro comes in two color options: Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey. I personally own the Mars Orange model, which presents a stunning appearance due to the subtle pattern on the back. It is one of the few devices I suggest using without a case, as the rear panel remains free from smudges and is simple to clean. Equipped with flat edges and gentle curves on the front and back, the device is pleasantly comfortable to hold. Additionally, it boasts an IP69 rating, ensuring resistance against dust and water pressure.
The Realme GT 7 Pro showcases a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It is claimed to be an energy-efficient display, promoting better battery longevity.

Out of the box, the display offers a natural color hue, but alternatively, you can opt for a more vibrant tint from the settings. The quality of the display is impressive for streaming HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content. It is sharp, boasting a 1.5K resolution and a pixel density of 450 ppi, remaining legible in direct sunlight.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in conjunction with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, this device's benchmark scores sit just behind the iQOO 13 on AnTuTu. Although it fails to achieve the advertised 3 million AnTuTu score, it remains an issue-free device during everyday use.
Realme has rectified the issue causing the device to heat excessively when running benchmarks. While the device does heat up under stress tests, it remains cool during normal usage.
For example, it smoothly managed "Genshin Impact" at high settings. The device also features Frame Plus for frame interpolation and AI Super Resolution for enhanced graphics, both of which operate effectively.

The Realme GT 7 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup, spearheaded by a 50MP primary sensor. Images captured in daylight display an outstanding dynamic range, sharpness, and striking colors. The 3x telephoto camera delivers commendable quality, excelling at capturing high-quality portraits, although the processing sometimes results in overly bright images.
The device runs on Android 15-based Realme UI 6.0, which is more refined, smoother, and cleaner than its predecessor. Notable features include AI Ultra Clarity and Sketch to Image, as well as practical tools like Touch to Share for simplified data transfer with iPhones.
Battery life is another notable advantage of the Realme GT 7 Pro, thanks to its 5,800mAh battery. It lasted me an entire day during moderate usage. The global variant features a larger 6,500mAh battery, deeming it capable enough for negotiating a day even with heavy use. The device supports 120W fast charging, enabling it to recharge from 20% to 100% in just 30 minutes.
Points of Concern

There are a couple of considerations to take into account when opting for the Realme GT 7 Pro. The 8MP ultrawide camera serves as the device's weakest link, delivering subpar results, especially in low light conditions.
I encountered inconsistent color tones when switching lenses during my initial testing. However, this issue appears to have been addressed with a recent update.
Furthermore, Realme guarantees three years of OS updates and four years of security patches, one year fewer than its direct competitor, the iQOO 13. While I prefer Realme UI over iQOO's FunTouch OS, this is a factor worth considering if you plan to use the device for the long term.
Realme GT 7 Pro Review: Conclusion

The Realme GT 7 Pro starts at INR 59,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 16GB + 512GB model costs INR 65,999. With little room for compromises at this price point, the Realme GT 7 Pro represents its most ambitious flagship to date.
A similarly powerful and adaptable alternative to consider is the iQOO 13, which retails for INR 5,000 less, boasting a superior camera system. Evaluate your preferences and needs before making your final decision.
That being said, the Realme GT 7 Pro is an excellent option if you prioritize top-tier performance and a user interface that is smooth and responsive. It also offers a remarkable display, dependable primary and telephoto cameras, and exceptional battery life with rapid charging.
Merits:
- Powerful performance
- Impressive display
- Superior battery life with speedy charging
Demerits:
- Average ultrawide camera performance
The Realme GT 7 Pro is rumored to be the first Android device to run on Android 15, leveraging its power with the Realme UI 6.0 interface. This upgrade promises improved efficiency and enhancements over its previous version.
Furthermore, if Android 15 doesn't appeal to you, the Realme GT 7 Pro is also expected to receive updates for older versions of Android, including Android 14, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of applications.
Additionally, considering the Realme GT 7 Pro's close relation to the Realme GT 6, it would be interesting to see if the company manages to maintain or improve the Android 14 performance of the Realme GT 6 on this newer device. This could set a new standard for future Realme devices, complementing their commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and enhanced user experiences.
