Fiat Revives 500 Series with February 2026 Hybrid Launch
Fiat is bolstering its electric 500 platform with a hybrid variant due to sluggish sales of the electric model and regulatory hurdles with the gasoline version. The new 500 Hybrid is set to roll out in February 2026, with a special edition model debuting at the Turin Motor Show.
The 500 Hybrid is equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder Firefly engine generating 65 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission and 12V mild hybrid technology. Production will commence at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy.
The special edition 500 Hybrid Torino will sport exclusive Gold Yellow and Ocean Green exterior colors, along with a distinctive houndstooth interior. Standard features include 16-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, automatic climate control, and keyless entry. The 500 Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 16.2 seconds, reach a top speed of 155 km/h, and consume 5.3 liters of fuel per 100 km.
Fiat will officially introduce the 500 Hybrid in November 2025, with a sneak peek at the Turin Motor Show in September. The series version's starting price in Italy is expected to be under 17,000 euros.
The 500 Hybrid Torino special edition will hit the market in February 2026, with prices starting at 20,900 euros in Italy and 21,990 euros in Germany. Fiat aims to revitalize the 500 series with this hybrid offering, celebrating the return of production to Turin.
