On September 11, a nationwide civil defense drill is set to take place across Germany. The drill, which begins at 11 AM, will offer an opportunity to test the technical processes in case of an emergency.

In the city of Dormagen, the civil defense drill will commence with the sounding of sirens at 11 AM. Simultaneously, in Horrem, two mobile sirens will be deployed due to the unavailability of a stationary siren. The mobile sirens will be set up at Heinrich-Meising-Straße / corner Am Hagedorn and Ulmenallee / corner Buchenstraße.

The drill will start with the 'All Clear' siren signal, followed by a series of announcements. The first warning drive in Horrem will begin at 11:15 AM during the drill, with five warning vehicles patrolling prepared sectors. These vehicles will inform the population via loudspeaker announcements about the ongoing exercise.

At 11:05 AM, a 'Warning' signal will be issued. Warnings will be issued via radio, internet, the 'NINA' app, and 'Cell Broadcast' mobile service. The message during the drill will appear directly on mobile devices or tablets, and no additional app is needed to receive the message.

All systems will be tested to ensure they function reliably during the drill. The drill will conclude with the second patrol, expected to be completed by 11:45 AM, and another 'All Clear' signal given at 11:10 AM. A second round of announcements will follow in Horrem around 11:30 AM, announcing the end of the exercise.

The drill is a collaborative effort involving volunteer firefighters from Dormagen and other emergency services. It serves as a crucial exercise to test the readiness and efficiency of the civil defense system in responding to emergencies.
