Fold Launches Bitcoin Gift Card Aiming to Make BTC America's Top Gift by 2025
Fold, a leading Bitcoin financial services company, has launched its Bitcoin Gift Card, aiming to make Bitcoin the most popular gift in America by the end of 2025. The card is the first step in integrating Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency, into the $300 billion U.S. retail gift card market.
Fold, which has empowered over 600,000 users with Bitcoin-based financial tools since 2019 and holds over 1,485 Bitcoin in its treasury, believes the Bitcoin Gift Card will appeal to millions of Americans curious about Bitcoin but hesitant to navigate cryptocurrency apps or exchanges. The card, initially available on the Fold website, allows consumers to purchase and gift Bitcoin, redeemable via the Fold app.
Will Reeves, Chairman and CEO of Fold, predicts that Bitcoin could become the most popular gift in America by the end of 2025 due to the Bitcoin Gift Card. Fold plans to expand its distribution to grocery chains and gas stations by then, thanks to its partnership with Totus, which enables distribution through over 150,000 points of sale nationwide.
No major U.S. retail chains have announced plans to offer Fold Bitcoin vouchers in the future, but Fold's ambitious expansion plans could change that. By making Bitcoin more accessible through gift cards, Fold aims to drive Bitcoin adoption and make it a mainstream gift choice.
