Fresh disclosure potentially reveals all details about the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold - here's an overview of the speculated features
Google's Pixel 10 Pro Fold: A New Era of Foldable Phones
The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Google prepares to unveil its latest innovation at the Made By Google event on August 20. Among the much-awaited announcements is the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a foldable phone expected to hit the market on October 9.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is set to redefine the foldable phone market with several notable improvements over its predecessor. One of the most significant changes is the device's display sizes. The inner OLED folding display measures an impressive 8 inches, making it the largest yet for a Google foldable. This is slightly bigger compared to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s inner screen, which was smaller. The outer (cover) OLED screen has also increased in size, ranging from 6.3 to 6.4 inches, depending on the leak.
In terms of charging, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold supports faster wired charging at 45W, a clear upgrade over the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It also debuts Qi2 wireless charging with magnetic Pixel Snap accessories, enhancing wireless charging convenience and speed.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold also boasts enhanced zoom capabilities, offering a 20x Super Res Zoom feature, up from 10x on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, it's important to note that the telephoto optics remain the same 5x lens, suggesting that the "10x optical zoom" claim might be marketing language rather than a hardware upgrade beyond the 5x telephoto lens.
Other improvements include a larger battery at around 5,015mAh, Google's biggest in a foldable to date, rated for 30+ hours of use. The device is powered by the new Google Tensor G5 chipset, improving performance and energy efficiency compared to previous models. Both inner and outer displays now boast higher peak brightness levels, with up to 3,000 nits reported—around 10% brighter than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold offers storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It features four cameras: a 48MP wide-angle, a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle, a 10.8MP 5x telephoto, and two 10MP selfie cameras. The phone is capable of supporting 10x optical, or lossless zoom, and has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will connect with magnetic Pixel Snap accessories and is powered by Google Tensor G5 and a Titan M2 security chip. Despite the numerous improvements, the phone's price in Germany is not expected to increase. However, the price in other locations remains undisclosed.
With these leaked specifications, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is shaping up to be one of the best foldable phones on release, offering a larger display, faster charging, improved battery capacity, and enhanced zoom capabilities, mostly through software upgrades rather than new optical hardware. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the Made By Google event!
