Genesis Unveils GV60 Magma: High-Performance EV Set to Top Line-Up

Genesis has revealed the first image of its high-performance GV60 Magma electric vehicle, set to top the GV60 line-up and introduce a new range of sporty Genesis models. The Magma is expected to share similar specifications with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, including an 89.0kWh battery and a potent dual-motor powertrain.

Vehicle development chief Tyrone Johnson has hinted at the Magma's focus, stating it will prioritise drivability over raw pace. The Magma will feature an aggressive front end, a lower and wider bodykit, and a long rear wing, setting it apart from the standard GV60. Genesis has likened the Magma to a more refined version of Hyundai's N sub-brand, targeting a 'gentleman driver' experience.

Pricing is expected to be substantial, with estimates suggesting the Magma could retail for up to £100,000, compared to the standard GV60's top price of £77,000. The Ioniq 5 N, based on the same E-GMP platform, offers a range of 278 miles and a 3.4sec 0-62mph sprint, indicating the potential performance of the GV60 Magma.

The Genesis GV60 Magma is set to make its debut soon, bringing a new level of performance to the Genesis range. With its aggressive styling, powerful powertrain, and focus on drivability, the Magma promises an exciting addition to the electric vehicle market. Additionally, the Magma badge will make its racing debut at Le Mans, marking Genesis' entry into the upper echelons of motorsport.
