Gmail's New Feature Lets Users Unsubscribe from Multiple Newsletters at Once
Google has introduced a new feature in Gmail to help users manage and unsubscribe from multiple newsletters simultaneously, aiming to declutter inboxes. The 'Manage Subscriptions' feature is now rolling out to select countries, with wider availability expected soon.
Previously, users could only unsubscribe from newsletters one at a time, often requiring them to search for old emails or wait for a new one to arrive. Now, users can easily manage their subscriptions directly in the Gmail app or on the web.
To use the feature on mobile, tap the three stacked lines in the Gmail app, then select 'Manage Newsletters' below the 'Trash' section. On the web, click 'More' on the left sidebar, then choose 'Manage Newsletters'. To unsubscribe from a specific newsletter, simply tap the icon next to the sender's name, which resembles an email with a minus sign '-' in front of it. After unsubscribing, an email will be sent to the sender notifying them of the unsubscribe request, and it may take a few days for the request to be honored. Unsubscribed emails will be sent to the Spam folder going forward.
The new 'Manage Newsletters' feature in Gmail allows users to easily unsubscribe from multiple newsletters at once, saving time and helping to keep inboxes organized. The feature is currently rolling out to select countries but will be available worldwide to users with a personal Google account soon.
