Goddard Discusses His Debut EP in Exclusive Interview on Rabbit Hole

In the world of UK drum and bass, Goddard has made a significant mark with his latest release, the EP "Here & Now". This debut offering not only showcases Goddard's unique sound but also marks the launch of his own label, Rabbit Hole Records.

Last year, Goddard made it his mission to revitalise the music scene through Rabbit Hole, a platform designed to nurture up-and-coming artists and foster a sense of community that other labels may not provide. The EP, described as more than just a collection of tracks, represents a defining moment for Rabbit Hole, establishing the label as a home for innovative, crossover bass music.

"Here & Now" is a diverse sonic journey, with each track coming from a different place. The EP's varied sonic palette is a testament to Goddard's commitment to fresh, creative sounds that blend different bass influences.

The EP features collaborations with a range of vocalists, including Venbee, Megan Linnell, Inja, Dread MC, and a brand-new up-and-coming artist, Jazza. One of the most emotionally direct tracks on the project is "Live for Nothing" with Billy Lockett.

"Bounce", chosen as the second track, was designed to throw people off and showcase a different style from Goddard's DNB peers. It feels tailor-made for the rave, embodying the energy and excitement that Rabbit Hole aims to bring to the scene.

Interestingly, "Get It Right" was written, recorded, produced, and mixed within five hours, demonstrating Goddard's ability to create music spontaneously. Another noteworthy collaboration is with Goddard's past collaborator, Venbee, on the opening track "Rabbit Hole".

Goddard's sound often aims to balance emotional weight and club functionality. If he could take one drum and bass track to a desert island, it would be "High Contrast and Calibre - Mr Majestic".

The EP's structure is intentional, with "Rabbit Hole" serving as the first track to link up with Venbee and as Goddard's debut release on his label. However, a UKG track intended for the EP is now due to come out on a different label.

In summary, "Here & Now" is Goddard's debut EP that simultaneously launches Rabbit Hole Records as an innovative label pivotal to the current and future bass music landscape. The EP showcases a full spectrum of Goddard's sound, ranging from high-energy club tracks to raw, stripped-back moments, solidifying Rabbit Hole's identity as a forward-thinking label pushing boundaries in electronic music.

Technology played a significant role in the creation of Goddard's debut EP, "Here & Now". To showcase the label's innovative approach, Goddard used advanced music production software and collaboration platforms to work with artists like Jazza and Venbee, bringing together various styles of music from across the globe.

The EP, available for streaming and download on various digital entertainment platforms, also marked the launch of Rabbit Hole Records' own mobile app, designed to connect fans with exclusive content, behind-the-scenes footage, and upcoming release information.
