Hitachi Vantara Enhances Hybrid Cloud Storage with New Capabilities on Google Cloud Marketplace

Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has announced new capabilities for its Virtual Storage Platform One Software-Defined Storage (VSP One SDS), now available on Google Cloud Marketplace. These enhancements provide enterprises with greater flexibility, data efficiencies, enhanced disaster recovery options, and simplified data mobility across on-premises and cloud environments.

The new features include two-way asynchronous replication, thin provisioning, and advanced data compression. Two-way asynchronous replication enhances disaster recovery strategies by allowing primary and secondary sites to operate as both source and target, enabling seamless data mobility and disaster recovery across hybrid cloud environments. Thin provisioning optimizes storage allocation to prevent wasteful over-provisioning, while advanced data compression reduces storage footprint and associated costs.

The cloud-native VSP One SDS Cloud version leverages Google Cloud's global infrastructure and supports Multi-Availability Zone (Multi-AZ) deployment for enhanced resilience across distributed environments. This ensures high availability and strengthens resiliency posture in hybrid cloud operations. The platform offers a single management interface for unified control over structured and unstructured data including block, file, and object data, simplifying data management across diverse environments.

By integrating deeply with Google Cloud Marketplace, Hitachi Vantara also enables its channel partners to better support customers evolving their hybrid cloud strategies, addressing priorities like security, performance, and sustainability, and providing transparent insights into data and infrastructure assets through complementary solutions like VSP 360 unified data management software.

The expansion to Google Cloud reflects Hitachi Vantara's ongoing commitment to innovation across the VSP One platform. The offering helps customers improve operations, strengthen data protection, and get more value from the infrastructure they already have. VSP One's availability on Google Cloud Marketplace enables customers to deploy storage resources across cloud and on-premises environments through a single management interface with no re-architecting required.

Dai Vu, managing director of Google Cloud's Marketplace & ISV GTM Programs, stated that the availability of VSP One on Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage, and grow the data management solution on Google Cloud's trusted, global infrastructure. Octavian Tanase, chief product officer of Hitachi Vantara, stated that VSP One empowers customers to streamline hybrid cloud operations while strengthening their resiliency posture.

The recent launch of VSP 360 simplifies the VSP One user experience and provides transparent insights into data and infrastructure. These enhancements come at a time when hybrid cloud deployment architectures are growing, with 80% of companies now using multiple public clouds and 60% operating several private clouds. The expansion to Google Cloud provides new opportunities for Hitachi Vantara channel partners to support customers as they evolve their hybrid cloud strategies.

With these new capabilities, VSP One offers enterprise-level availability on the public cloud, designed for high service reliability and uptime, and can reduce cloud storage costs by up to 40%. This makes VSP One a flexible and efficient solution for enterprises managing complex hybrid cloud storage landscapes.
