Google Unveils New $99 Smart Speaker for Spring 2026

Google has unveiled a new smart speaker, the Google Home Speaker, just a day after Amazon's Echo Studio and Echo Dot Max hit the market. The device is smaller than its predecessors and priced at $99 in the US, with UK and Australia pricing yet to be announced.

The Google Home Speaker is set to launch in Spring 2026, offering a compact design similar to the Echo Dot or Apple HomePod Mini. It will be available in four vibrant colors: Porcelain, Hazel, Jade, and Berry.

Google's priority is ensuring a smooth transition of the Google Home app and backend before releasing the new speaker. The Google Home Speaker will support older devices like the original Google Home from 2016 and the Nest Hub from 2018, with a portion of Gemini features. It will also offer omnidirectional audio with full 360-degree coverage, allowing for grouping or pairing with other speakers.
