Hamburg Future Conference Unites Science, Business to Tackle Challenges
The Hamburg Future Conference, set for November 22, 2022, at the Chamber of Commerce, aims to unite science, business, and society to address future challenges collectively. The event, hosted by the University Society Hamburg and the Chamber of Commerce, will feature four panels delving into climate change, medicine, energy, and societal acceptance and political responsibility.
The climate change panel will grapple with the task of achieving the 1.5°C target while sustaining a thriving society. Meanwhile, the energy panel will explore hydrogen as a promising energy carrier for the future. In the medicine panel, 3D tissue systems will be discussed as innovative models for human organs, potentially revolutionising organ replacement.
Paul Elsholz, deputy CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, emphasises the necessity for close collaboration between business and science to swiftly implement new research findings and climate-friendly technologies in companies. He also highlights the low technology acceptance in Germany, stressing the need for a 'culture of enablement' to remain competitive and widely adopt new technologies.
The Hamburg Future Conference seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration between key sectors to overcome challenges like climate change, energy crisis, and health hazards. With its comprehensive panels and prominent speakers, the conference promises insightful discussions and potential solutions for a sustainable future.
