Hidden upgrade speculations surface in Google Pixel 10 leak, alongside anticipated prominent updates

The upcoming Google Pixel 10 line-up promises an upgraded fingerprint sensor, delivering a smoother and faster unlocking experience, even with wet hands.

This groundbreaking development is set to be unveiled by Google on the 13th of August, with sales commencing on the 20th. Although the physical appearance of the Pixel 10 phones might resemble their Pixel 9 counterparts, there's a hidden enhancement you might easily overlook.

As per the reports from Android Headlines, the adoption of a superior fingerprint sensor is among the enhancements Google plans to make. The Pixel 9 models currently use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which will be upgraded for even swifter, smoother unlocking.

This enhancement comes on top of the face unlock feature offered by Google, a feature that banking apps support, thereby facilitating a more streamlined daily routine for Pixel users.

One area where the new fingerprint sensor is expected to excel is in coping with wet hands, saving you from continuous tappings to make the phone work during those rainy days.

A Closer Look at the Pixel 10

As Android 16 is already installed on the Pixel 9, it's a given that the Pixel 10 will come with the updated software as well. It's also rumored that Material 3 Expressive, Google's new design language for the best Android phones, might make its debut on the Pixel 10.

Despite similarities in design with the Pixel 9 models, the new phones are rumored to be Qi2-ready, necessitating a specific type of cover for the advanced wireless charging standard, similar to the iPhone or HMD Skyline.

The new Pixel 10 will be powered by the Tensor G5 hardware and comes with a potential change in the camera sensor on the base model, using the same hardware as the Pixel 9a. The Pixel 10 series is expected to be available in shades like Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, and Midnight. The slightly more muted Pixel 10 Pro is said to be offered in Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, Smoky Green, and Midnight.

The major changes, however, are speculated to lie in AI-based features, with an increased emphasis on Gemini. The impact of these updates on the end-user remains to be seen.
