Lemonade Expands Homeowners Insurance Offerings in the UK

Lemonade, the AI-powered digital insurance company, has expanded its Homeowners insurance offerings in the UK with the launch of a buildings-only product. This standalone policy, available through the Lemonade app or online at lemonade.com/uk, provides standard coverage including rebuild costs, temporary accommodation, and owner’s liability, with prices starting at £12 per month.

The buildings-only cover is developed in continued partnership with Aviva, reinforcing Lemonade’s long-term commitment to the UK insurance market. Customers can customise the policy with optional add-ons for enhanced protection, such as Home Emergency, Accidental Damage, and Legal Protection.

Home Emergency provides emergency support for issues like broken boilers, burst pipes, faulty locks, or electrical failures. Accidental Damage covers unexpected damage to the physical structure of the home, while Legal Protection offers access to legal support for disputes involving the home, employment, or clinical negligence.

Since launching in the UK in October 2022, Lemonade’s UK market has been one of the company’s fastest growing. In July 2024, the company debuted its full Homeowners insurance offering, marking a continued growth of Lemonade’s presence in the UK insurance market.

Sarvesh Ramachandran, Head of UK at Lemonade, stated that Lemonade has become the preferred option for the next generation of insurance buyers in the UK. The addition of the buildings-only product further cements Lemonade’s presence in the UK insurance market, targeting the next generation of insurance buyers with a digital and AI-powered user experience.
