HPQ Silicon Ships First Industrial Lithium-Ion Battery Cells
HPQ Silicon Inc. has shipped its first industrial batches of high-performance lithium-ion battery cells, developed under the HPQ ENDURA+ brand. These cells are en route to Montreal for discussions with potential clients across diverse sectors.
The cells, available in 18650 and 21700 formats, boast impressive features. They offer higher energy density and longer cycle life than comparable cells on the market, which typically retail between US$4.50 and US$8.00 per cell. HPQ ENDURA batteries can withstand up to 1,000 charge cycles, positioning them well for the growing demand for advanced lithium-ion cells.
Production of these cells is subcontracted to Amperex Technology Limited (ATL), a large-scale battery manufacturer. This partnership ensures scalability and flexibility. Through this collaboration, HPQ Silicon projects an annual production capacity of up to 1.5 million cells, thanks to their partnership with Novacium SAS.
HPQ Silicon Inc. has extended the exercise date of its outstanding share purchase warrants until November 23, 2027, indicating confidence in its battery cell production. With the first batches now shipped, the company looks forward to direct discussions with prospective clients in Montreal.
