"I don't touch a computer on Saturdays. I try to switch off completely until Sunday morning. Even if a board member tries to reach me, I say 'no'." Rangan says, firmly.

For Rangan, a successful leader's key to maintaining peak performance lies in striking a balance between work and rest. From Monday to Friday, meetings and long days take over, with Rangan waking up as early as 6 a.m. to kick off her day.

"My mornings are jam-packed with calls. By 7 a.m., I'm in the thick of things, and my days are long - 12, 14, or even 15 hours until 10 p.m. when I catch up with my kids before diving back into work." Rangan shares.

To perform at her best, Rangan admits that breaks, even brief ones, are non-negotiable.

"I've told myself I need a break. It's like peak performance requires peak rest. You have to take breaks." Rangan concluded, leaving us with a thoughtful reminder to disconnect and recharge when needed.
