In this announcement, it's revealed that selected "Cyberpunk 2077" outfits will be available in "Fortnite".

Fortnite has seen its fair share of crossovers, with the latest one involving none other than Mariah Carey. Now, it's diving into familiar territories, introducing skins from my all-time favorite game, Cyberpunk 2077. You might think I'm insane about this, but once you experience it in its complete form, you'll understand.

We now have insights into the Cyberpunk 2077 characters coming to Fortnite, and while I wished for double the number of skins, I'm not surprised with the selection. Here's what's in store, to be available in the shop on December 23, as per dataminers:

  • V Skin (1,500 V-Bucks)
  • Johnny Silverhand Skin (1,500 V-Bucks)
  • Johnny’s Katana (800 V-Bucks), Wrap (500) and Emote
  • V’s Mantis Blades (800 V-Bucks), Quadra Vehicle (1,800 V-Bucks)

A few points to consider here. First, it's unknown if this V will represent a specific gender, or possibly both. Fortnite shared an official teaser for the collaboration, showcasing only the female version of V. While she may be the superior choice in-game, male V had a lower pick rate. It might be ideal to include both, but there's no news on that, or if it could be offered as a buy-one-get-one deal as an alternate style. Fortnite isn't particularly experienced with handling the "created character" issue in video game crossovers.

Johnny Silverhand being the second skin is quite predictable. Following his appearance in John Wick, this marks the second time Keanu Reeves' likeness is featured in the game. It's not a common occurrence, with the only other example being a dual Zendaya role as Chani from Dune and Mary Jane from Spider-Man.

Lastly, Mantis Blades being added as a mining tool? Count me in. Without a doubt, it's going to be one of the coolest tools in the game, alongside Wolverine claws. It's uncertain if these are exclusive to V, but I wonder if they'll have any unique "pop out" animation or something.

Excerpt:

Normally, after major crossovers, Epic releases additional skins. I'd love to see Judy and Panam join the fray as the game's other iconic characters. However, for now, we only have the main characters.

I'm sure we'll see leaked visuals of the skins soon, and I'll be snapping them up as soon as possible. Although, I'm unsure if Johnny would appreciate his likeness being sold as a microtransaction in Fortnite. V, however, wouldn't mind as long as she's compensated.

Despite my excitement for the Cyberpunk 2077 skins in Fortnite, I can't help but wonder if there will be a crossover with other popular games like Fortnite and Cyberpunk 2077's main competitor, 'Among Us'.

On the other hand, I'm eagerly anticipating playing in Fortnite with my favorite Fortnite character, while also embodying the style of 'Cyberpunk 2077', such as using the Mantis Blades for mining, just like in the game.
