Indian Startups Raise $360M in a Week, Cleantech Leads
Indian startups have witnessed a surge in funding, with over $360 million raised last week alone. Cleantech startups led the sector, raising a significant portion of the total investment.
The funding spree was kickstarted by PharmEasy, which raised a whopping $193 million. Meanwhile, Chakr Innovation, an Indian cleantech startup, led the sector with a $23 million raise, closely followed by Emergent, another Indian cleantech startup, which also secured $23 million for its agentic vibe-coding platform.
Between September 22 and 27, 2025, 29 Indian startups raised over $160 million. This includes three Indian cleantech startups: Regenx Tech, Brenmiller, and Mevaldi, which focused on urban mining, clean energy storage, and green chemistry technologies, respectively. Tesla Power and Amwoodo also raised funds, with $2.82 million and $4 million respectively, for their sustainability and energy ventures.
EaseMyTrip increased its stake in Eco Hotels and Resorts Limited by 7.77% through a rights issue. Cloud kitchen startup Curefoods, 'Zero-Stock' fresh commerce startup Handpickd, and Edtech startup Vedantu collectively raised $44 million.
The diverse range of sectors represented in these investments, from Fintech to Spacetech, indicates a broad-based confidence in Indian startups. The significant funding in Indian cleantech startups also signals a growing interest in sustainable technologies.
