Indoor golfing sees a transformation with Saudi Arabia's shift

In a significant move for the golf scene in Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals, Golf Saudi has partnered with Five Iron Golf to bring a series of advanced indoor golf venues to the region.

Five Iron Golf, a US-based company founded in 2017 and backed by strategic investors such as Callaway Golf and Enlightened Hospitality Investments, is known for blending technology, instruction, entertainment, and food & beverage. The company has already expanded rapidly with over 36 locations across the US and international sites in Dubai, India, Singapore, and Australia.

The flagship location in Riyadh is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026, located on the ground floor of the PIF Tower in the King Abdullah Financial District. Spanning approximately 1,500 square meters, this venue aims to be one of the world's most prominent indoor golf destinations.

The partnership between Golf Saudi and Five Iron Golf aims to broaden golf participation across the Kingdom by creating modern, inclusive, and accessible indoor golf spaces, particularly targeting youth and women. While the exact number of venues and cities beyond Riyadh has not been specified, the plan includes expanding the model to additional cities in the future as part of a multi-unit development strategy.

Five Iron Golf CEO Jared Solomon stated that Five Iron is more than just a place to hit balls; it's a cultural experience. He expressed excitement about bringing this dynamic and inclusive golf experience to Saudi Arabia.

Noah Alireza, CEO of Golf Saudi, shared similar sentiments, expressing his enthusiasm about the partnership. He believes that this collaboration will help bring a new dimension to golf in Saudi Arabia, making it more appealing and accessible to a wider audience.

The expansion is part of a larger goal to develop a sustainable golf ecosystem in Saudi Arabia supported by both franchising and direct investment. This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for sport, aiming to support year-round participation, youth development, and modern golf infrastructure.
