Installed EV Charging Stations: PPC Plans to Install Sixty on European Routes Across Romania and Greece

In an effort to bolster electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure along key European transport corridors, PPC blue, a division of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) Group, will install 60 EV charging points in Romania and Greece. The project, named the "East Europe Electric Route," is funded by the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) program and aims to enhance EV travel and transport along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

The installation will include 28 DC fast-charging points with a minimum capacity of 150 kW, suitable for light-duty vehicles, and 32 ultra-fast DC charging points with a minimum capacity of 350 kW, designed for heavy-duty vehicles. In Romania, PPC blue will install 12 DC fast chargers of at least 150 kW and 32 ultra-fast DC chargers of at least 350 kW. The remaining 16 fast-charging stations of 150 kW will be installed in Greece at 10 strategic national highway sites.

The 60 charging points will be spread across 29 different locations along key TEN-T corridors in both countries to support seamless EV travel and transport. PPC blue, in Romania, has a total installed power of over 14,000 kW for its charging points and has been active in providing charging solutions throughout the country.

The installation of these charging points is intended to support the growth of electric vehicle usage in Romania and Greece. PPC blue in Romania offers integrated electric mobility solutions to residential customers, companies, and public institutions. This initiative is a joint effort by PPC blue in both countries, strengthening EV infrastructure along vital European transport corridors.

The project's funding of up to EUR 2.76 million will come from the EU's CEF. The 'East Europe Electric Route' project is the name of this initiative, and the installation of charging points in Romania by PPC blue is part of this project. Each DC fast-charging point will have a capacity to serve light-duty vehicles, while each ultra-fast DC charging point will have a capacity to accommodate heavy-duty vehicles.

This move towards a more sustainable and electric transportation system is a significant step forward in reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy solutions in Europe.

The installation, a part of the 'East Europe Electric Route' project, will see PPC blue integrating science and technology by installing 60 environmental-science oriented EV charging points in Romania and Greece, with 28 DC fast-charging points funded by the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and 32 ultra-fast DC charging points financed through the project's allocated budget of up to EUR 2.76 million. This undertaking in environmental-science and finance aims to foster growth in the region's electric vehicle (EV) market and support a more sustainable and electric transportation system, ultimately reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy solutions in Europe.
