As the dust settled, Ukrainian Max Hamaha emerged as the clear victor, taking home the inaugural ICTC trophy. The hooks were set on the first day, when Hamaha found himself at the bottom of the rankings. But on the second day, he made an epic comeback, scoring a realized Profit and Loss (rPNL) of 7,488.84 USDT from a clever long position on Ethereum (ETH).
The Dutch Merlijn The Trader and Ukrainian EXCAVO claimed second and third spots, respectively, with respective rPNLs of 6,745.96 USDT and 4,098.90 USDT. Hamaha also nabbed second place in the Total Trades metric, with 47 transactions, trailing Kazakhstani Mus_Money's 49 transactions.
One of the most striking moments came courtesy of Malik Roth Klindt Jensen, also known as Coinvo, who clocked in the single-largest gain of 12,249 USDT on an ETH-PERP position. On the other end of the spectrum, the largest single loss, also on the ETH-PERP pair, totaled a heart-pounding loss of 10,725 USDT, underscoring the high-stakes nature of crypto trading.
But the show wasn't just for the experts. The event provided a unique glimpse into the techniques and mindsets of professional traders, as over 3,000 participants shared their screens and walking through their moves in real time.
Hamaha reflected on his epic comeback, sharing, "trading under the spotlight was a nerve-wracking yet exhilarating experience. Adjusting to tournament rules wasn't easy, but I stuck to my active intraday trading strategy with high leverage, staying focused and calm. The final minutes were nerve-wracking, but I pulled through!"
A pioneering event in every sense, ICTC 2025 could easily become crypto trading's answer to esports, with Hamada predicting that, in a few years, "crypto trading tournaments will rival Dota 2."
