Norton Rose Fulbright Launches Innovation-Focused Subsidiary LX Studio
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the launch of LX Studio, an innovation-centric US subsidiary dedicated to accelerating legal innovation and digital transformation. The new entity aims to provide clients with more effective and efficient legal services, helping them navigate intellectual property and regulatory challenges while advancing their business objectives [1].
LX Studio's scope includes harnessing innovation strategies and digital tools to optimize the management and exploitation of intellectual property. This initiative is part of Norton Rose Fulbright's broader approach to blend legal expertise with technology, offering multidisciplinary IP law services across key industry sectors such as financial institutions, technology, life sciences, and consumer markets [1].
The subsidiary will serve as an internal hub driving technological advancement within the firm's legal services model, reflecting a commitment to innovation that underpins both client success and the firm's operational efficiency. LX Studio will collaborate with legal technology companies, alternative legal services providers, and may partner with or invest in novel technologies [1].
One of the key products LX Studio will develop is a suite of legal operations solutions for corporate legal departments. These solutions are designed to help clients put technology to use quickly, effectively, and comprehensively [2]. LX Studio will also house some of Norton Rose Fulbright's existing technology products, including the award-winning privacy compliance tool suite NT Analyzer [3].
Norton Rose Fulbright's US Managing Partner, Jeff Cody, stated that LX Studio will provide clients with more than just legal advice, also offering problem-solving capabilities [4]. Gina Shishima, the Chief Strategy and Operations Partner, emphasized that LX Studio allows the firm to capitalize on its tremendous resources and innovative focus, extending the existing platform with partnerships and investments [6].
Christy Bentz, the Chief Client Value & Innovation Officer, expressed the desire to meet clients where they are, providing a platform for more intentional collaboration on the 'how' of legal service delivery [2]. She further stated that LX Studio's business model is centered around giving clients innovative solutions to their legal and business problems [7].
With LX Studio, Norton Rose Fulbright's global innovation and service delivery program, NRF Transform, will gain a new arm. LX Studio will be integral to the program, capitalizing on the firm's resources and innovative focus to bring new opportunities to offer new and different services to support clients [6].
