Newland Payment Technology Unveils S90 Android SmartPOS Series
Newland Payment Technology (NPT) has made a significant stride in the digital payment industry with the launch of its S90 Android SmartPOS series. This global line of high-performance digital payment terminals is designed to offer speed, reliability, and performance, catering to both small merchants with complex operations and large retailers managing high transaction volumes.
The S90 series consists of three models: the S90, S90 Pro, and S90 Ultra. The Ultra version supports 5G connectivity, setting it apart in the market. The S90, the lead device in the flagship 'S Series', is equipped with a 6.75" high-definition merchant-facing display, providing a clear and intuitive interface. A secondary customer-facing screen is also included for an enhanced checkout experience.

The S90 series is designed for both countertop and mobile use and is powered by a 2.4Ghz octa-core processor running on Android 14. This powerful hardware ensures seamless operations and quick response times. The software environment of the S90 series provides a straightforward platform for application providers to deploy joined-up solutions.
The architecture of the S90 series is expandable, allowing for faster development of custom hardware for customers. An optional professional 1D/2D barcode scanner is available, increasing versatility. The S90 series has been benchmarked by a major independent lab in Brazil, global customers, and ranked number one overall in processing performance, contactless transaction speed, wireless communication speed, battery life, and charging time.
Newland Payment Technology will first offer the S90, S90 Pro, and S90 Ultra Smart POS devices in the United States, Canada, and Japan to utilize the 5G connection. The company will showcase its SmartPOS solutions at NRF 2025: Retail's Big Show in Europe. The S90 series is designed to integrate payment, commerce, operations, and back-end services into a unified platform, making it an attractive option for acquirers, payment facilitators, and fintechs seeking to develop differentiated point-of-sale strategies.
