iReader, a Chinese electronics manufacturer, has launched the iReader Neo Pro, an upgraded version of its popular e-reader. The device, priced at $159, is exclusively available in China.
The iReader Neo Pro boasts a 6-inch E INK Carta 1300 display, offering a sharp resolution of 1072×1448 and 300 PPI. It features a front-lit display with a color temperature system, adjustable over 60 levels of brightness. Powering the device is a 1800 mAh 'batteries plus', promising 50 hours of reading time and 21 days of standby.
Under the hood, the Neo Pro is equipped with a 4-core processor, 2 GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. Connectivity options include WIFI, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C. It also features a single speaker for audiobooks. The device comes with an optional case that includes page-turn buttons and a 'find my device' back plate with pogo pins for connection. It runs on a fork of Android called SmartOS, but sideloading apps is not supported.
