Cracking the Code Unveiled at *NAMM 2025 and now they've hit the shelves, Jackson's Surfcaster is back in business - and this cult-favorite offset guitar has been revamped for today's shredders*.

While other Charvel/Jackson models scream aggression with sharp headstocks, the Surfcaster stands out with a design reminiscent of Rickenbacker, eschewing sharp edges in favor of a smoother silhouette.

Designed for players who crave metal tones without the metal aesthetic, the Surfcaster has drawn the attention of artists like Lee Malia from Bring Me The Horizon, whose signature LM-87 guitar boosts a Surfcaster-inspired design. It's one of the hottest new electric guitars of 2025!

Jackson offers the Surfcaster in two price tiers. The thrifty JS Series, priced at just £279/$299, comes in Snow White and Gloss Black. The premium X Series, priced at £699/$579 for the Six-String Black model and £779/$629 for the Metallic Black Seven-String, has all the bells and whistles.

Prediction time - we reckon these bad boys will fly off the shelves like burgers at a barbecue. They share some common features, but there are differences that make 'em unique.

The JS model, despite its affordability, has a few advantages that set it apart from others in its class. For instance, it features a contoured neck heel and an amaranth fingerboard, offering a more comfortable grip. While it equips high-output humbuckers, the X Series boasts Jackson's signature humbuckers for richer tones.

Curious about how these pickups stack up? That experiment could lead to some intriguing discoveries!

Both series share a similar control setup: a three-way blade-style pickup selector switch, volume, and tone knobs. The X Series, however, flaunts the '80s-style sharkfin inlays seen on their iconic Rhoads, Soloist, and Kelly models.

The JS series features 22 jumbo frets, while the X Series pushes that to 24. The neck and headstock of the JS Series remain unbound, unlike the sleek single-ply binding on the X Series neck and headstock.
