Launched in India: Sony's 98-inch Mini LED TV with Dolby Vision, called Bravia 5, boasts features and pricing details

Sony India has recently unveiled its latest and largest television offering yet, the BRAVIA 5 model K-98XR55A. This high-end super large TV is set to hit the Indian market starting July 23, 2025, with a price tag of Rs 6,49,990.

The BRAVIA 5 boasts a 98-inch 4K UHD (3840×2160) Mini LED LCD screen, powered by Sony's Cognitive Processor XR. This advanced processor uses AI and cognitive intelligence to optimize picture quality, enhancing colour, contrast, depth, clarity, and motion in a way that aligns with human perception.

The TV's display features XR Contrast Booster 10, XR TRILUMINOS PRO for wide colour accuracy, and advanced HDR support including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. The XR Backlight Master Drive allows for independently controlled Mini LEDs and precision dimming, ensuring deep blacks, bright highlights, and excellent contrast in complex lighting environments.

The BRAVIA 5 also offers an immersive audio experience with a 40W output featuring Dolby Atmos and Acoustic Multi-Audio speakers. This setup aims to recreate a cinematic audio experience for viewers.

In terms of connectivity, the BRAVIA 5 is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, four HDMI ports (all supporting 4K 120Hz, eARC, and VRR), and two USB ports.

Additional features include Studio Calibrated Mode, dedicated streaming modes like Netflix Adaptive, Sony Pictures Core, and Prime Video Calibrated Mode for enhanced content accuracy, including live sports. The TV also supports DVB-T/T2 and DVB-S/S2 tuners.

As part of a limited-time launch offer, Sony offers a comprehensive three-year warranty, a Rs 25,000 cashback on select credit cards, and a fixed EMI option of Rs 19,995 per month.

The BRAVIA 5 runs on Android TV (Google TV), providing smart TV capabilities and app support. It measures 2199 × 1325 × 488 mm with the stand and weighs 71.4 kg.

This TV is designed for users seeking a premium cinematic experience at home with advanced display, processing, HDR, and sound technologies. The BRAVIA 5 is available across Sony Centres, Sony Exclusive stores, ShopatSC, leading electronics retailers, and major e-commerce platforms in India.
